How to Transfer Your Credit Card Balances

The most common way to do transfers from one card to another is when you apply for the new one, one the application you will have a section just for transfers. In this section, you enter your details of the other card you are looking to transfer from. This option is extremely easy to do, once you have been approved for the new card they will pay off your debt on the old one, and you have nothing else to do. Another option is once you have been approved for a great 0% transfer rate card most companies offer anywhere from 30-90 days to do balance transfers, simply make a call to the new card company and give them the required details.

Some Points to Keep In Mind
• Keep in mind that just because you have 0% interest for a specified amount of time
Does not mean your monthly payments will be lower. Whenever possible you should always try to pay more then the monthly amount due. The more you pay a month the faster your debt will diminish.
• If your new card has a lower credit limit, then your total debt on a card you are hoping to transfer from, do not fret, and transfer what you can. The new card will show up on your credit report so use it to your advantage. In the end, it will help you not only pay off your current debt with a lower interest rate it will also help build your credit score.
